The Nordic League Executive Committée has decided not to implement the new rules regarding Club Face Grooves that the European Tour and Challenge Tour will play by in 2010.

Then general intention of the Nordic League is to play by the same rules and regulations as the Challenge Tour in order to prepare the players for the next step in the best way possible.

It was also the intention to follow the CT in the grooves issue but with the current circumstances it would be unreasonable to follow through with this regulation.

The main reasons for this are the following:

• Supply, some of the manufacturers of clubs has informed that the might not be able to supply clubs to all players on our level in time

• Control, the ways of controlling the conformity of a club is not sufficient at this point, at least not without a big investement in testing equipment

• It would seem strange that we would be the only tour on our level in Europe (and the world?) to implement this rule.

• We would go against recommendations made by the R&A

Note that in CT events within the Nordic League the new rules will be in effect.

Further decision on when to implement the new rules on the Nordic League will be announced in december.
